Late I'm joined by Linden Cole, via Cleanfeed. No I didn't take a trip to London, and Linden didn't take a trip to San Diego. But we make the audio so good, that it sounds like we are in the same room. Linden is an author and host of the podcast The Icarus Complex Podcast. It's a bunch of short stories that Linden has written and narrated for an audio book. But put into a podcast form. He puts a lot of work into each episode even down to the year of the background music to set each scene.
Podcasting can be a lot of fun. Although it does take a lot of hard work and effort to create a podcast. We all would like to make some money with our show. It would be fantastic if we could quit our day jobs and just focus on creating podcasts for a living. Only a few shows actually are at that level, and chances are you are not one of them. Don't worry, there are a few ways to make money with your show. You can sell something on your show. Or you can use podcast advertising. Which I feel is not the best way to make money with your podcast. If you find a sponsor for your podcast to run an add spot. They want to know your downloads. The term CPM is based on cost for every 1000 downloads or plays. The average rate is $15-20. So if your lucky enough to get 1000 plays on a single episode in a 30 day span you make $20 tops. Wow $20. If you're worried about that $20, you have bigger problems than your podcast.
Today it was brought to my attention that there is a website that has a copy of Levelator for Windows PC still available to download. As I mentioned in my last episode that I couldn't find a copy from the original website. Said site was no longer available. I love using the audio tool Levelator. As it turns out its not available to download on Windows PC. As I did some research the source where the download was originally was invalid. So what is a good alternative. I found Auphonic. They do charge you to use it, but it does a better job than Levelator did. You can use it for free, at 2 hours a month. I signed up for the free plan to try it and I'll play 2 samples on this episode. The first sample was Levelator, second clip on Auphonic.

On the Kris and Kristine Show we just posted our 100th Episode! We had a lot of moving parts, 16 guests, music, new promos, with ad spots, and we did the episode live in real time. No post production work. The entire show was recorded in one take from start to finish. How was I able to make that possible? No mixers or extra gear required. I'll explain on this episode.

A pattern I very frequently encounter is being on the playlist and wanting to download the next episode of a show and insert it on the playlist immediately after the current episode. This requires me to remember what episode I'm on, go back to the podcast show list, open the show, scroll down to the new episode, download it, add it to the playlist, and then drag it up to where I want it. Instead, I'd like to just have a single "download next episode and queue after this" option that I can execute from the playlist.
I use PA to play my MP3 musics by creating a virtual podcast to a folder on my SD card that contains all my favorite musics.It just lacks the possibility of resetting the playback of the songs if you leave the song and the possibility of downloading the image of the original CD cover.It would be great to give up any other player to play my music
Similar ro implement a clear file naming system request I have some podcasts that have no id3 tags and although your app gives the best naming (episode number.mp3) in most cases since I can set a custom name for the podcast where the download folder for the podcast takes that naming for me it would be useful to have the mp3 files when downloaded to have the id as the title of the podcast.I'm sure this could be added as an option on what pattern to use as the file naming for ex:Original filenamesEpisode titlePattern: podcast name plus counter
Please add an override or change limit message when attempting to manually download a number of episodes that when combined with what has already been downloaded will exceed the "keep at most" limit if it's not already set to unlimited. I think this is why I keept experiencing stage behavior when trying to download a lot of episodes and forgot to charge that limit. It seems like it's downloading all of them then marking all but the most recent (insert limit) episodes as played add deleting the downloads.
